Eight hundred kilometers upstream from Kinshasa, on the river Congo, the Institute for Human Activities mobilizes the modalities of art production and launches a fiveyear Gentrification Program. The opening seminar of this program takes place in June in Congo and investigates the gap that arises in the transfer from critical art from the locus of its production to the zones of reception – usually museums or biennales, not a bamboo settlement in Congo.
